The quarter-final line-up for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) has been confirmed, with Ghana and seven other teams battling for places in the semi-finals.
The quarter-final matches will be played on Saturday, August 8, and Sunday, August 9, at venues in Morocco.
Defending champions Nigeria, hosts Morocco, Ghana, Cameroon, Malawi, Algeria, Ivory Coast and South Africa are the eight teams still in the competition.
The action will begin on Saturday, August 8, when Ivory Coast face Algeria in Casablanca at 17:00 GMT.
Later that day, hosts Morocco will take on South Africa in Rabat at 20:00 GMT.
Morocco will be hoping to continue their strong run on home soil, while South Africa will be looking to book a place in the semi-finals.
On Sunday, Cameroon will face defending champions Nigeria in Casablanca at 17:00 GMT.
The final quarter-final match will see Ghana take on Malawi in Rabat at 20:00 GMT.
The Black Queens booked their place in the last eight after drawing 1-1 with Mali in their final Group D match. The result was enough to send Ghana through to the knockout stage.
Ghana will now need to beat Malawi to reach the semi-finals, while Malawi will also be hoping to continue their impressive run in the tournament.

The four winners will advance to the semi-finals and continue their fight for the 2026 WAFCON title.
The tournament is also important because it forms part of Africa’s qualification route for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Brazil.
