Former Hearts of Oak Technical Director Rene Hiddink has confirmed that he has received the $146,000 settlement owed to him by the Ghana Premier League club.
The development could pave the way for FIFA to lift the transfer ban imposed on Hearts of Oak following the dispute over unpaid salaries.
Hiddink had taken legal action against the club to recover the outstanding payments, resulting in the FIFA transfer ban that prevented the Phobians from registering new players.
The ban affected Hearts of Oak’s preparations for the 2026/27 Ghana Premier League season as the club was unable to register its new signings.
However, the dispute now appears to have been resolved after Hearts of Oak settled the amount owed to their former technical director.
Speaking in an interview with Sportstiger on Original TV, Hiddink confirmed that he had received the payment.
“I received my settlement payment two days ago from Accra Hearts of Oak Club,” he said.
Following the payment, Hearts of Oak are expected to submit the necessary documents to FIFA as they seek to have the transfer ban formally lifted.
If FIFA approves the request, the Accra-based club will be able to register their new players and complete their recruitment ahead of the new season.
The development will come as a major boost for new head coach Nebojsa Kapor, who is expected to strengthen the squad as Hearts of Oak prepare for the 2026/27 Ghana Premier League campaign.
The Phobians are scheduled to begin the new season at home against Berekum Chelsea.
