WAFU B U-20 Championship: Black Satellites Ready for Final Group Game Against Togo

The Black Satellites have completed their preparations for their final Group B match against Togo at the 2026 WAFU B U-20 Championship.

Head coach Maxwell Konadu supervised the team’s final training session on Saturday ahead of Sunday’s game at the Charles Konan Banny Stadium in Yamoussoukro, Côte d’Ivoire.

The players went through tactical drills and finishing exercises as they prepared for the match.

The Black Satellites will be looking to end their campaign on a winning note after picking up just one point from their first two games.

Ghana started the tournament with a 4-2 defeat to defending champions Nigeria before drawing 1-1 with Burkina Faso.

The team played a large part of that match with ten men but managed to earn a point.

With qualification no longer possible, Maxwell Konadu is expected to give playing time to some players who have had limited minutes in the tournament.

However, the coach is still hoping to lead his side to victory against Togo.

Although the team will not progress, the tournament has given the technical team the chance to assess the players and prepare for the 2027 CAF U-20 Africa Cup of Nations, which Ghana will host.

A win against Togo would give the Black Satellites a positive ending to their campaign before they turn their full attention to next year’s tournament.
