The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Christian Tetteh Yohuno, has promoted four police officers for their outstanding role in an operation that led to the dismantling of an alleged armed robbery syndicate in the Upper West Region.
The officers promoted are General Corporal Mortsi Kwashie Divine, Detective Corporal Salifu Ishmael Aketisiwin, General Lance Corporal Ernest Ameyaw Akumfi and General Lance Corporal John Bekaar Vitus.
The Ghana Police Service said the promotions recognise the officers’ dedication, courage and professionalism in the fight against armed robbery.
The four officers played key roles in an intelligence-led operation carried out by the Upper West Regional Police Command.
According to the Police, the operation led to the arrest of six suspects allegedly linked to a number of armed robbery incidents recorded in parts of the Wa West District and the Wa Municipality.
The Police said the promotions were to recognise the commitment and professionalism shown by the four officers during the operation.
The IGP and the Police Management Board have congratulated the promoted officers and encouraged them to maintain the same level of dedication and professionalism in the discharge of their duties.
The Ghana Police Service said the recognition is part of efforts to encourage officers who show exceptional commitment in the fight against crime.
