The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has directed all its regional executives to complete outstanding branch executive elections across the country between August 3 and August 11, 2026.
The directive was contained in a letter dated August 1 and signed by the party’s Deputy General Secretary in charge of Finance and Administration, Barbara Serwaa Asamoah, on behalf of the General Secretary.
The party instructed all Regional Chairmen and Regional Secretaries to ensure the elections are held within the stated period.
According to the directive, the decision was taken by the Functional Executive Committee (FEC) at its meeting on July 28, 2026.
The NDC said the list of branches that are yet to hold elections has already been sent to the various Regional Election Committees.
The party directed regional executives to work closely with the election committees to ensure the elections are conducted in line with the NDC Constitution, Election Guidelines and the approved timetable.
The directive also stressed the need for strict compliance to ensure the successful completion of the exercise within the given timeline.
Regional executives have been asked to provide the needed supervision and logistical support to ensure the elections are free, orderly and transparent.
The NDC said it is confident that its regional leadership will successfully carry out the exercise, describing the branch executive elections as an important step in strengthening the party’s structures ahead of future political activities.
