Kwame Opare Addo says losing to Asante Kotoko is a tough one to swallow.

Hearts of Oak’s Communications Director, Kwame Opare Addo, has voiced his disappointment after the Rainbow Club fell 1-0 to arch-rivals Asante Kotoko in Sunday’s Super Clash at the Accra Sports Stadium.

A first-half strike from Guinean forward Morifing Donzo made the difference, bringing an end to Hearts of Oak’s unbeaten run in the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League campaign.

During an interview on Asempa FM’s Ultimate Sports Show, Opare Addo admitted that the loss was difficult to take but emphasized that the team is still committed to its goals.

“We couldn’t secure the three points we wanted, but the season is long and there are plenty of matches ahead. I won’t lie — it hurts. Still, we have a solid team, and we’ll keep pushing forward with the support of our fans,” he said.

He also called on supporters to stay steadfast despite the setback.

“We all went through this together, and we aimed to finish the game on a positive note. No matter what has happened, let’s continue to support the team, and I believe we will achieve our goals,” he added.

The loss leaves Hearts of Oak in sixth place on the league table with 16 points. The club will host Swedru All Blacks in their Matchday 10 fixture this weekend.
