Former Black Stars captain Asamoah Gyan has announced death of his father, Mr. George Gyan Baffour Mensah.
He was 82.
Though it is unclear when Mr. Mensah died, the Ghana football legend collective the heartbreaking news on Friday, July 24, in an emotional social media post.
I’m happy you saw my greatness, Dad. Thank you for taking good care of us. You will forever be in our hearts. REST IN PEACE (ASASE J) Gyan wrote beside his late father’s photo.
The family has scheduled a one-week observation in honour of the late Mr. George Gyan Baffour Mensah for Saturday, July 25, 2026, in Didcot in the United Kingdom.
The announcement has drawn an emotional of condolences from football lovers and well-wishers.
